Women are still not being taken seriously when it comes to chest pain. If a woman does not present with the usual symptoms, such as mid-centered chest pain, pain in the left arm, and pain radiating up the neck, they are very often not taken seriously. Even if they present with these symptoms yet lack coronary disease on a cardiac catheterization, physicians dismiss them.
